Project started from the reading of some poems of the ancient Roman poet Catullus. And from incredible ethnic necklaces that had captured my gaze and heart. As a location I thought of the archaeological site of the "Grotte di Catullo", the ruins of his villa on Lake Garda. The possibility of carrying out a photo shoot in an archaeological site is quite difficult, both for the costs and for obtaining permits. I also showed my concept drawings to a well-known Italian television broadcaster to see if it was possible to access the site. In the end, not being able to shoot at the "Grotte di Catullo", I opted for the collaboration of a hotel nearby where there were some Roman ruins, access to the park and the lake beach. The hotel also provided me with a room as a basis for the preparation of the model. And the possibility of having lunch under the olive groves.
The week before the photo shoot I went to explore the lake and to obtain permits to access the hotel by car. Exploring the coast I realized the need to get rock shoes as the bottom of the lake was also full of rocks. In fact, I also injured my leg on the rocks: some of my blood was lost in the water. ^^
It would have been nice to be able to create more looks, but instead I limited to four. It was a prototype project, therefore a sort of test. But the result of some shots still satisfies me a lot today.
